St. Patrick's Day and Daughters

I've been pinched twice today. The boys got me while I was still in my jammies. They had enough foresight to wear jammies with green on them to bed. Little stinkers. They were ready to pinch their little sisters too, but Ann had green on her underwear and Hannah had green on her jammies... so there!

I put a big St. Patrick's day tablecloth on the table and hung up their Trinity Clovers they had made at the SAY Rally. Put Corned Beef, Red Potatos and Cabbage in the crockpots for dinner. I should get some root "beer" too and think of something green for dessert. Ooo! I know, how about mint chocolate chip icecream(green) rootbear floats... that might work!

I am sooo feeling the "nesting" hormones kick in. Watch out! When I unloaded my car this morning of Advisory Board and Home League groceries, I couldn't help but start getting rid of stuff from the Corps(church) kitchen. I called our janitor in and got rid of TONS of stuff, including a ton of VERY expired food. It felt really good. When you have up to 15 people using a kitchen, noone is "comfortable" getting rid of stuff because they think it's for someone else's project or program. That's where I come in! I almost threw out the girls and the janitor if they stood still for to long! (ha!ha!)

It is amazing to me having daughters! Having sons has always been such a blessing and enjoyment in my life, but I am learning that they are just plain different from girls! The boys have never wanted to be like me. They want me and love me and need a mother, but they want to be like Dad, not me. The girls watch me so closely and imitate me in so many ways. I will say.. "where did they learn THAT?" and thinking more closely, I realize they learned it from me! Good or Bad! I am always remembering the proverb Ezekiel 16:44 "Like mother, like daughter".

Among all the questions I am asked being pregnant "Is it a boy or girl?" usually comes first. (I should blog about the rest of the conversations/interrogations/questioning/opinions when they find out it's my 5th!!) Anyways, I have no idea what we're having. I don't even have an inkling like a good mother would. I change even on what I want. There was a time when I only imagined myself with sons, but that picture is over. A daughter would fit in with the girls so well because the girls are already the youngest. A son would also be good because it would be something fresh after 4 years of girls. Who knows! The bottom line is you get what you get. And seeing as we live a life surrendered to God, He will give our family exactly what He intends! I pray to God though it will never be a cat. (ha!ha!) That is one living thing I don't every want in my home!!

What's everyone else doing for St. Patrick's day?
