David's Boat

David's school assignment was to create, engineer, build

a boat

that would go 8 feet while carrying 50grams of "cargo".

It's a steam boat! Water is in the cyclinders with wood corks and a small hole in each to let out the steam. The tea light candles heat up the water. It took about 4 minutes to get it going, but once it started that little thing could go! He got an A+ and won "Most Creative". Great job David! You still amaze me kiddo!

Steak Feed

I love community gatherings.

Here we are at the Steak Feed (on Thursday night) that Paul's Kiwanis club does every year.

I just realized there is no account of Mary. She really was there though! She must've been in the stroller during picture snapping.
We also played in the park and visited with some of our employees and community friends. It was fun listening to the Gospel band and dancing around too.
It was a good time... The Dalles ROCKS!!
Thank you Lord!

Labor Day Weekend Part 2

This was our second year at the Civil War re-enactment at Fort Stevens near Astoria, OR. We were there from opening 'till closing taking it all in.

We met this family at our campground. Here they are with their granddaughter. Their grown children were raised "in the Civil War" and have their own camps right beside them.

He taught us a lot. Here are his homemade clothes hangers.

It was real special that he went in his tent and got out his rifles (I wish I could explain them better but I don't know much about guns). They were very heavy. He let the boys handle them and everything.

The battle. We went to 2 battles, this was the first one.
Would you believe Mary slept through most of this!

Some of the camps.

Part of the fashion show.
